Listen, hear no judgment from my end on this post, okay? My hair is as dry and damaged as ever. In fact, when I had my hair done recently by Jordan, I was a little ashamed about how bad it had gotten. I blamed it on heat damage, since I wash my hair just about every day because I work out every day , and the fact that I was growing it out. I had not scheduled a haircut with him, it was just supposed to be a color appointment, but after he blew it dry he said, with a longing look in his eye, “I have to clean the ends up a bit.”
I relented. And my ends look fresh and he didn’t cut ALL my hair off like the last stylist did who nearly scalped me until I was bald 11 years ago.
Yes that’s how long it’s been since someone other than myself has cut my hair, and yes it’s a problem. I’m working on it!
Anyway, because of the excessive use on my hair, I’m really being gentle to it this season. I love the length, and love it blonde, so it needs some serious TLC.
If you are in the same boat, here are a few of my favorite deep conditioners to use on your locks!
Living Proof Restore Mask Treatment. This is a weightless deep conditioner that really heals your hair and reduces breakage. Personally, I love being able to scoop the product out of the tub since I use quite a bit, and my hair always feels better after I use it! Use 1-2 times a week for up to 5 minutes.
Pureology Colour Fanatic Instant Deep Conditioning Mask. This is extremely hydrating and nourishing for the hair. This will make your hair feel ultra soft and it helps reduce breakage and makes your hair super shiny. You can really tell that it locks in moisture, and I’ve been known to use this just as my daily conditioner after coloring my hair! Use as much as you want for 1-3 minutes.
L’Oreal Total Repair Extreme Emergency Recovery Mask. This is a great drugstore option for under $10! It moisturizes and helps heal your hair. I didn’t notice additional weight on my hair after I used it, so it’s a winner in my book! Use 1-2 times a week for 3-4 minutes.
If you haven’t used a mask, or deep conditioner, on your hair, I recommend trying it. If you are looking for a leave-in spray, I’d highly recommend this one by Pureology! Especially if you color your hair! Dry, damaged hair doesn’t style well and ultimately doesn’t look very pretty. Take care of your hair, and you won’t regret trying one of these products!
